Translations
That Weren't
- Parker
Pen advertised its SuperQuink ink as proper for every social
occasion and for avoiding embarrassment in social correspondence.
Unfortunately the direct translation into Spanish included
"embarazo" and the result was encouragement to use
Parker SuperQuink to avoid pregnancy!
- A
Tokyo egg store sells "Extract of Fowl."
- An
ad in Bombay, nowhere mentioning the actual product says,
"I request with folded hands, kindly once visit and justify
my items and rates."
